Eric's story
Well, one of the things it did, Father
Frank, opened my eyes to a a reality
that was out there. I was very young,
misinformed,
just stuck in in limbo. And Father Frank
gave me some direction. I didn't take it
at first because I didn't really realize
what it all meant. It took me a lot of
years to finally realize what he was
talking about when I was a teenager. I
used that later in life to really
succeed. I got lasting friendships too,
lifelong friendships, people I still
talk to these days. But it gave me hope
that there is a future. Bottom line, the
Hope House gave me that hope that there
was more to life than just running the
streets
up to no good. You know, it propelled me
into education. I went I finished my
GED. I started college. I did very well
in college. But it wasn't until the last
15 years when I finally I guess I I
finally hit rock bottom. That's when I
really realized the teachings that he
was teaching me, you know, 30 years
before that. It's been 41 years since I
lived there. And I still think of that
time
that it was instrumental in my
development. No doubt. Having the house
meetings every Sunday night up in the
the third floor attic of the old house.
It was that that family time that really
stuck with me.
