Steven H's story
Hope House didn't do anything for me.
Hope House afforded me any and every
opportunity to do things for myself. It
didn't give me anything. They gave me the opportunity.
And while I was here, they helped course
correct me and get me to the person that
I should have always been. Well, coming
in, it was pretty tough. you know, I was
ready to commit suicide and divine
intervention. Ended up here, did an
overnight, started just like you, Pax
Christie. I did Pax Christie. I did the
Lion's Den at night and then stayed here
with the guys all day. And I remember
they would drop me off at like 9:30,
10:00 at night. And like they were
picking me up 8:00 in the morning. And
then after the first night, I was like,
"Can you guys pick me up at like 6:30 in
the morning because I'll be ready. I'll
be out the door waiting." My life kicked
off here. They say in the program like
beyond your wildest dreams and they

guys,
you know, 100 families that I could
reach out to if I need anything. And I
have a hundred other families that would
do the same for me. Parents could do the
same. Coming here, it was like it's not
like I just came here. It's like my
whole family came here and yes, I stayed
here and I lived here, but like my
family benefited from this. You know, my
family has a big family now. As my dad
always says, like I dropped one kid off
here and I have 100 kids now, 100 sons.
And that's cool. I married here and it
was only two guys that weren't from Hope
House in my wedding party. Guys I got
sober with were here and they were right
next to me on the most beautiful day of
my
