Cathleen's story
I never heard of Hope House. I learned
about it through a couple of friends and
by that time my son was having very
serious issues with alcohol and things
were spiraling out of control and I knew
he needed professional help and he was
falling apart and it was very serious.
So, two friends, a friend in Ireland
actually phoned me from Ireland,
pressuring me to call the other friend
who is a an alum of uh Hope House and
said, "This place will help your son." I
reluctantly left him there, but I knew
that this was the only hope I had at the
moment. I left him and he called me.
That was a Friday. He called me on
Monday. very cheerful. I guess I would
have to say probably sobered up and
said, "Mommy," I thought he was going to
say, "Can you come and get me?" He said,
"I'm staying.
This is great." So, he stayed. He went
through the academy. He did 18 months
plus uh I think almost two years. He
went back to school at Father's
Encouragement, got his bachelor's
degree, went on, got his master's
degree. He's now mentoring and
sponsoring other men. I think that Hope
House

right word, but offered them that sort
of security from those kinds of things,
faith, church. Not not that I forced
them to go to church once they were
teenagers, but they did they did go
sporadically. So I felt that hope house
I learned that Hope House really was
offering the solid ground work and base
that they had had all their lives. And
my son is just he is now the person he
was on track to
